This is the part where I tell you a little about me.
I grew up in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee, at 14 my family moved to Memphis, Tn. I went to college at The university of Tennessee at Martin in 1998 and began studing Philosophy. I recieved my B.A.of Philosophy in 2003 and continued for a year and a half studing art. I have just finished my MFA from Eastern Michigan University.
The pots that I find interesting are those which capture a real sense of play or gesture. I find Gay Smith's forms quite interesting indeed. I see art as a way for people to connect, not just in a superficial way but to really get into the shoes of someone else. Unfortunatly it seems most think of art as a way to separate one another, and do so by seeking more and more obscure and elitist Ideas and expressions.When in reality what counts isn't how many 'don't get it' but rather how many really do.
